Who are we?

Solomon Group entered clean energy because the standard playbook was failing — broadcast media, one-size-fits-all messaging, and agencies with no presence in the communities they were supposed to reach. We built the platform and the methodology the industry needed and couldn't find.

Our Origin

How the gap became the opportunity.

Solomon Group began as an operational research and strategic communications firm with two decades of experience serving government, finance, national security, and international development clients. The analytical infrastructure was already built. The question was where it was most needed.

In 2021, conversations with senior staff at energy companies revealed a consistent problem: clean energy programs were being funded but not reaching the communities that needed them most. Broadcast media was failing in LMI and EJ neighborhoods. The contractor workforce was underprepared. And the agencies hired to close those gaps lacked the data capability, the community relationships, or both.

Solomon Group's entry into clean energy was a direct response to documented, unfilled business requirements — not a pivot, not a trend follow. The same research methodology that had powered financial analytics, national security communications, and field operations for the U.S. Army was redirected toward a problem where the stakes were energy burdens, housing quality, and community health.

The result is Solomon e3: a platform built by people who ran the programs before they built the software.

2019 Solomon Group founded

MBE-certified company established in Boston. Initial focus: operational research, data management, and strategic communications for government and commercial clients.

2021 Clean energy entry

Mass Save subcontracts in EJ communities revealed the core problem: fragmented data and absent infrastructure, not lack of awareness. The E3 Portal concept begins.

2023 Prime contracts awarded

Mass Save Language Access Planning, Community First Partnerships, All Electric Homes Initiative, and MA EEA Decarbonization Clearinghouse — prime contract status achieved.

2025 Solomon e3 platform launched

EnergyConnect iOS app (App Store) and Smart Portal for institutional clients. DOE ECEAI deployment in North Carolina and Georgia. Maryland partnership with Electrify Equity initiated.

What Sets Us Apart

Three advantages no generalist firm can replicate.

Every energy tech company claims data capability and equity focus. These are the specific, documented reasons Solomon Group delivers where others don't.

We ran the programs before we built the software

Solomon Group conducted Mass Save subcontracting in Environmental Justice communities before building a platform. The barrier analyses from that fieldwork, discovering that low participation was an infrastructure and data fragmentation problem, not a marketing problem, became the product specification for Solomon e3.

Large-scale field operations is a core competency, not a claim

Most data platforms outsource community engagement. Solomon Group's methodology for deploying and managing large workforces in diverse, multilingual environments was built over two decades and validated externally. It runs inside every program we operate.

Institutional-grade analytics applied to community-scale problems

The predictive modeling architecture underlying Solomon e3 has heritage in hedge-fund analytics and DoD intelligence operations. That infrastructure, geospatial indexing, behavioral modeling, real-time data pipelines — is now deployed for building decarbonization at the zip code level.
